Overview

Experience the highlights of Greece on a 10-day journey combining ancient history, cultural landmarks, and the beauty of the Greek Islands. Begin in Athens with a guided city tour and visit the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum, including the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion.

Continue to Delphi to explore its ancient archaeological site and Temple of Apollo, then travel to Meteora to visit its spectacular Byzantine monasteries built on towering rock formations. Return to Athens before traveling by ferry to Santorini, where you can enjoy free time to explore and relax. Continue to Mykonos for another island experience before returning to Athens for your departure.

Itinerary

Day 01 Athens

Arrival at Athens International Airport. Assisted transfer to the Hotel followed by overnight stay.

Day 02 Athens City tour with Acropolis Museum

Departure from the Hotel in the morning after breakfast, followed by a guided City tour of Athens & New Museum. On the Acropolis you can admire the Temple of Athena Nike, as well as the Propylaea. The beautiful geometry of the Parthenon will come into view, as will the Erechtheion, with its renovated portico of the Caryatides and the Pandroseion. You will visit the hill of Filopapos, walk through the paths of Plaka, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament with the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the modern city of Athens, the city chosen by the Gods. Afternoon free. Overnight stay in Athens.

Day 03 (Wednesday) Tour Delphi - Meteora

The first day you will arrive at Delphi around noon. Famous for its theater, Temple of Apollo and ancient ruins, Delphi was considered the center of the earth and the universe and played a central role in the classical Greek world. Visit at the archaeological site and the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle. In the afternoon after lunch depart through Central Greece and the cities of Lamia (short stop), Trikala crossing the Thessalian plain, to Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the majestic grey rocks and crowded by the Meteora Monasteries (short stop for souvenirs). Overnight stay in Kalambaka.

Day 04 Meteora- Athens.

The second day leave in the morning for nearby Meteora for a tour of the cliff-top monasteries to visit two different Byzantine Monasteries built on top of rock towers and providing fantastic views over the plain. By your return you may visit optional a factory of Byzantine style icons. Return to Athens passing by the heroic monument of Leonidas king of Sparta in Thermopylae (short stop for photos). The tour returns to Athens in the late afternoon

Day 05 Athens – Santorini

Departure from hotel to the port of Pireus. At the port embarkation on a regular ferry to the island of Santorini. Arrival at Santorini followed by a transfer to the hotel and overnight stay.

Day 06 Santorini

Free time on the island of Santorini to explore and relax

Day 07 Santorini-Mykonos

At indicated time, transfer from hotel to port to embark on a ferry to the island of Mykonos. Arrival at Mykonos, transfer to the hotel.

Day 08 Mykonos

Day at leisure on the island of Santorini.

Day 09 Mykonos – Athens

At arranged time, transfer to the port to board a ferry towards the port of Piraeus. Arrival and transfer to the hotel.

Day 10 Athens

Transfer to Athens international airport at arranged time
