Itinerary
Day 01 The Egyptian Museum and Old Coptic Cairo tour.
You will meet your guide at the start of your day tour in Cairo. You will visit the Egyptian Museum to explore a wide range of antiques such as King Tutankhamun's treasures and jewellery. Our guide will accompany you for two hours in the museum to explain all the information and details of the ancient Egyptian artifacts.
You will see the treasures of Tutankhamun, which is the only collection of royal treasures left from the eighteenth dynasty of the New Kingdom. This collection includes a wide range of gold and silver jewelry that was buried under the sand for over three thousand years until the tomb was discovered and moved to the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
Later, we will travel to the Salah al-Din Citadel to see the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali, which is one of the most popular attractions in Islamic Cairo. This mosque is a remarkable example of Ottoman architecture in Cairo. The citadel was built during the Islamic period and is a medieval fortress that served as the headquarters of the Egyptian government from the reign of Salah Eldin until the reign of King Farouk in the early 1900s.
At lunchtime, you can choose from a variety of Egyptian delicious dishes. On our Coptic Cairo tour, you will visit some of the oldest and most popular churches in Egypt. You will explore the historic Roman fortress of Babylon, and you will be amazed by the Hanging Church, which is a prominent landmark in Cairo.
You will visit the Church of St Sergius, which was built on the crypt where Jesus Christ, his mother, and St Joseph the carpenter lived for almost three months. You will see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which was built before the 9th century and was converted into a Jewish place of worship after being a Coptic church for several years.
You will continue your day exploring Cairo's most remarkable Islamic neighborhood, which includes medieval fortifications and mosques such as the Al-Hakim Mosque in Egypt.
After finishing your Cairo day tours from the airport, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
